Self hate will eat your soul away. I know cause there’s still fleeting moments where I deal with it everyday. Sometimes it’s hard to let go of our past, the things we’ve done wrong, and our insecurities. We have to remember that while we have control of things to be, we have no control of the things that happened.
We are only human, and with that we can only do what we know to do. Everyday work on letting go of the things you’ve done, take a step in being the person you want to be.
If you don’t love yourself enough you’ll let people walk over you, however when you love yourself too much you become a narcissist. It’s okay to love others more than yourself, but that doesn’t mean you should put everyone before you. You deserve to be happy, and it’s wrong to hurt others purposely for that happiness.
However it’s also wrong to let others hurt you for their happiness, and you have to love yourself enough to know when to draw the line. You have to love yourself enough to not accept less for yourself. You have to love yourself enough to pick yourself up when you fall.
You deserve to be treated righr, but you also have to treat yourself right. Depression, not caring for yourself, can quickly destroy you. That’s because you don’t care what happens to you, I know from personal experience that, that mentality has led me to the bottom of many bottles.
Depression often leads to substance abuse and when you don’t care about yourself it’s easy to take anything to far. Whether that be drugs, eating, or some other vice. You get to the point where you don’t care what happens to you.
At that point it’s often very difficult to even get out of bed. Focusing on any task becomes overwhelming. You begin to feel like Atlas holding up the world. However the real weight is coming from the self hate, the depression all the things we can’t let go.
You may hate your life, and often that comes from hating the world, and yourself. If you want things to change you have to change it even if it’s just only your perception. People are amazing when you’re not looking through hateful eyes. There is so much live behind the scenes in every moment of time.
Sometimes you just have to let things go. I know the past can be hard to get over. It’s hard to get over the things you’ve done, and the things others have done to you. Forgiving people and yourself can help you find so much peace and see so much beauty. Often times we don’t mean to do the things we did and feel guilt, we have to remember that others feel the same way, and everyone sees the world differently. I personally try to love and understand everyone including myself, however I also know sometimes I must distance myself from certain types of people to perserve myself. There’s so much complexity to the world. Love is in everything you just have to open your eyes to see it.
